National Startup Day: To celebrate the accomplishments of Indian startups and foster an entrepreneurial spirit.
The purpose of National Startup Day is to celebrate the accomplishments of Indian startups and to foster an entrepreneurial spirit. It aims to give budding entrepreneurs a forum to discuss innovation for India’s youth and their role in the country’s economy. The motive behind encouraging entrepreneurship is to boost schemes like Make-in-India.
Many startups grew and emerged as unicorns, more than 110 in India (43 in Bengaluru alone). Some of them grew further and joined the League of decacorns. Above all these numbers and monetary gains, the startup ecosystem in India brought first-time entrepreneurs into the ecosystem. Young people are going beyond the search for lucrative jobs to explore themselves to become entrepreneurs. Another significant development is that these people are venturing into several domains that will enhance the nation’s growth: employing AI in agriculture, IT in education, waste to wealth, recycling, efficient transportation, and so on. The startup ecosystem encourages people to explore and go beyond traditional businesses and enhance their services. Adopt and apply newer technologies. A growing startup ecosystem gives hope in making this country self-reliant (Atma Nirbhar) and in the emergence of youth not afraid to experiment and explore.
National Startup Day celebrates this spirit of innovation that enables ideas to become reality.
