Touching Lives while Touching the Moon:
India’s Space Saga

India commemorates the successful Chandrayan-3 mission and landing on the Moon as “National Space Day” on  23 August. One year back, ISRO achieved a significant milestone of landing Chandrayaan-3’s lander and rover on the Moon. With this achievement, India joined the elite club of moon landers. It also had its first landing near the southern polar region of the Moon, where no one had landed hitherto. PM Shri Narendra Modi announced that the celebration of the achievement would be observed as “National Space Day” every year. ISRO planned several events leading to this observation of “National Space Day”. It will culminate in a grand two-day event at Bharat Mandapam.
